My work is all about transition and leadership in a most vital and healing sense. Sometimes that means letting go of old identities to see from fresh eyes. Last January was the definitive time when I retired from my 15 year history as a Seattle IONS Community Group Coordinator and founder of IONS Northwest. I am now open to new possibilities emerging from the great work that has been accomplished with all of you. I offer my gratitude to each of you for helping make the consciousness community in Seattle one of mutual support.

My work continues in sponsoring transformative professional continuing education and public workshops and nurturing my private practice in counseling and coaching. I am also continuing my work as a community catalyst for the northwest and beyond. These times, in particular, call for the collective exploration of wisdom toward new ways of being in the world. Learning together through community is needed now more than ever. Following is my latest update of news and events serving conscious transformation. My hope is to that you will join me at one of these events and, as before, find resources in the news I offer.

When it comes to inquiring on how to navigate conscious change, there is no better place on earth than Seattle. Last April's major event produced by Susan Burns (Transformative Groups), You Were Born For Such A Time As This! Collective Wisdom of Transformation was a great success with a sensational community conversation focused on how to work with change in these critical times.

The palpable engaged presence resulted in an an encouraging, affirming, and highly educational program with a panel who showed how to understand the underlying dynamics of change and skillfully work with them. They offered their advice on how to personally grow within a rapidly changing environment. The group agreed that our work together was exceptional as was the contribution of rich conversation our Seattle community added.

This priceless toolkit of transition was recorded on 2 audio CDs. They feature Rev Karen Lindvig of Seattle Unity welcoming our community (many thanks) with the facilitation of Sarah van Gelder weaving the wisdom offerings of James O'Dea, Gloria Burgess, David Spangler, Phil Lane Jr, and Norma Timbang.

James O'Dea - The Mysteries of 2012: Predictions, Prophecies, and Possibilities

Are you aware that the title You Were Born For Such A Time As This! used for our April event came from the final chapter of the book, The Mysteries of 2012: Predictions, Prophecies and Possibilities? In this last chapter of the book, James O'Dea capped the offerings from Gregg Braden, Peter Russell, Daniel Pinchbeck, Joanna Macy, John Major Jenkins and others, a collection of 25 essays devoted to understanding these times of prophecy. The book reviews a prediction of an evolutionary shift in the year 2012 signaled by the end and convergence of Mayan and other ancient calendars. It is a wonderful read with a range of perspectives from mathematical underpinnings to the call for consciously shaping radical change.

Are you seeking a learning community to ground in these times of change? Are you longing for a community of support? Monday, Aug. 17, 7-9 PM offers an opportunity to reunite with a community to begin a future series of meetings focused on this theme. We will meet in one of the classrooms in the Education building at East Shore Unitarian. Be ready for a time that includes meditation, sharing, group exercise and project exploration. We will review the salient aspects in The Mysteries of 2012 (as above) and what they mean to each of us personally. Suggested fee is $5.
